Savoury delights at SIAL Paris 2026
From everyday staples to inventive new flavours, the savoury grocery sector reflects the diversity, creativity and evolving demands of the global food industry and promises standout moments at SIAL Paris 2026.
The savoury products sector is poised for a dynamic showing at SIAL Paris 2026, one of the most influential trade shows in the global food industry. As a sector that contributed €16.1 billion to global Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) growth and represents a projected CAGR of 4.9% through 2030, savoury grocery is a key pillar of the show. The 2024 edition already saw 3,068 exhibitors present their savoury offerings, from canned foods and condiments to world foods and gourmet snacks, and this figure is expected to rise as demand for diverse, flavourful, and health-conscious options grows.
Major international buyers such as Carrefour, Coop Trading, Esselunga, Metro Food Sourcing, and Elior Group were among the key visitors at the 2024 edition, with 92% of all attendees involved in purchasing or procurement decisions. Exhibitors in 2026 will not only showcase their products but also access an unparalleled opportunity to develop their brand visibility, forge international partnerships, and expand into new markets, with 70% of attendees hailing from over 190 countries.
Innovation and inspiration on the menu
SIAL Paris has long been a barometer of innovation, and the savoury segment continues to stand out for its ability to evolve with changing consumer tastes. The 2024 edition spotlighted over 2,400 new products, with the savoury sector standing out as one of the most innovative. Grapeful – The Original Hummus Bar, winner of the SIAL Innovation Grocery Award 2024, exemplifies the kind of originality that turns heads and drives growth in this segment.
Innovation trends for 2026 are set to reflect rising global appetites for bold and diverse culinary experiences. Korean Bibimbap became the most searched recipe globally in 2024, highlighting a boom in cross-cultural food inspiration. Meanwhile, the emergence of spicy, bold, and fermented flavours like black garlic, chilli, and exotic spice blends shows no signs of slowing.
Snacking is also playing a bigger role. Comfort remains a key motivator for consumers, with four out of ten citing it as their top reason for enjoying food. The snacking category has expanded rapidly to include both functional options (high-protein, clean label) and gourmet treats, making it one of the fastest-growing areas of savoury grocery.
Meanwhile, clean label formulations and health-focused ingredients continue to attract attention. As consumers seek savoury snacks free from additives and preservatives, this subcategory is projected to grow at an annual rate of 5.8% through 2025. The focus on authenticity, transparency and origin is also shaping how products are packaged and marketed.
A platform for business and visibility
Beyond commercial outcomes, SIAL Paris offers valuable exposure for brands. With more than 285,000 participants expected in 2026 and extensive media presence, exhibitors in the savoury space gain strategic visibility among their target audiences. The five-day event provides a key opportunity to launch new products, test market reactions, and benefit from spontaneous press interest.
With consumer tastes rapidly evolving and demand for savoury, plant-based, and international products on the rise, there’s never been a better time to join this global conversation. Exhibiting at SIAL Paris 2026 allows brands to align with these trends, engage with the right partners, and take part in shaping what’s next for the sector.
