Illinois-based Duravant, a manufacturer of process equipment, has completed the acquisition of poultry processing machine maker Foodmate which is dual-headquartered in Georgia, USA and in the Netherlands.

The acquisition first announced in April gives Duravant – a specialist in the food processing, packaging and material handling sectors – a bigger global footprint. The company can now serve customers and partners in 190 countries worldwide.

Foodmate was founded in 2006 and has grown to become a well established brand for poultry processing machinery. Foodmate’s capabilities include the design of automated solutions – from the weighing and grading of poultry, to the cutting and deboning process using proprietary software, and R&D capabilities. CEO of Duravant, Mike Kachmer commented: “As we welcome the Foodmate team we look forward to growing their legacy through continued customer-centric innovation.”

According to David Hazenbroek, the president of Foodmate in the Netherlands, the company currently equips, services and supports over 900 installed units at the largest poultry processing companies globally.
