The alcohol-free market is booming. SIAL Insights confirms the sustained growth of this trend, in line with new consumer aspirations: chosen sobriety, optimised health, uncompromised pleasure.

A rethought, well-established consumption pattern

According to data from SIAL Insights, alcohol-free is no longer just a substitute, but a segment in its own right, popular with a wide range of consumers, including younger generations, athletes, pregnant women and wellness enthusiasts. Between 2020 and 2024, the growth of non-alcoholic beverages accelerated worldwide, driven by two factors: the demand for natural products and the desire to enjoy a complete taste experience without compromise.

While non-alcoholic beers paved the way, the market has since diversified significantly to include sophisticated non-alcoholic cocktails, de-alcoholised spirits, functional sodas enriched with vitamins or adaptogenic plants, and more. Start-ups and large groups alike are banking on creativity to appeal to an increasingly demanding audience. Innovations in dealcoholisation and gentle fermentation processes, combined with premium storytelling, are proving very popular.
