Pink pepper: The fashionable spice

At SIAL Paris 2024 Millar is showcasing an increasingly popular gourmet spice – pink peppercorns. Grown in the heart of coffee-bean country in southeastern Brazil and harvested from small berries that grow on a tree native to South America’s Atlantic forests, this once niche product has a growing fanbase among chefs and cocktail-makers. Unlike its more traditional sibling black pepper, this spice has a less harsh, more fruity flavour and is an attractive addition to sweet or savoury dishes.
