Hello Tomorrow: the foodtech revolution is accelerating
Presented at the Hello Tomorrow Global Summit 2025, the Global Challenge finalist start-ups in the Food & Agriculture category are shaping the contours of a more sustainable food system, fuelled by deeptech. Focus on seven pioneers of this revolution in progress.
On 13 and 14 March, the Hello Tomorrow Global Summit 2025 brought together more than 3,000 global deeptech players in Paris. A real springboard for disruptive technologies, the event once again honoured the most innovative projects through the final of the Global Challenge, an international startup competition divided into 12 impact categories. Among these, Food & Agriculture took centre stage, driven by the urgent need to transform our global food systems. The Global Challenge Finals showcased deeptech solutions applied to agriculture, food processing and nutrition, with one thing in common: combining sustainability, advanced technology and industrial viability.
Seven start-ups, seven visions of a sustainable food future
Selected for their scientific and commercial potential, the seven start-up finalists in the Food & Agriculture category embody the diversity of approaches in food deeptech. Codomax is developing an enzymatic technology to replace chemical preservatives, while Nosh.bio is using precision fermentation to produce plant-based alternatives rich in protein. In terms of agricultural inputs, Biocentis uses genetic engineering to create targeted biological pest control solutions. Nūmi explores personalised nutrition via biomarkers, and M4Life makes use of unexploited organic flows to produce sustainable ingredients. SioValley Technologies, meanwhile, combines artificial intelligence and modelling to optimise the food supply chain. Finally, Hypesound stands out for its novel approach: the use of acoustic waves to influence food transformation and fermentation processes.
A structuring ecosystem for the future of foodtech
The dynamic observed in Paris is evidence of an ecosystem increasingly structured around food deeptech. On stage as well as in discussions among experts, the issues of financing, industrialisation and regulation occupied a prominent place. Among the influential voices present at the summit were Riadh Shaïek, in charge of the Hello Tomorrow Global Summit, alongside leading investors such as Alexandra Morrow (Clay Capital), Maxime Overgaag (dsm-firmenich Ventures) and Dominik Grabinski, founder of AI Bobby, a pioneering startup in AI applied to food formulation. Their presence highlights the growing interest of funds and industrialists in these new technologies capable of reshaping food value chains. A few months ahead of SIAL Paris 2024, these signals confirm that sustainable food will, more than ever, depend on the convergence of science, entrepreneurship and technological innovation.
