SIAL was a real springboard for our company!
In this exclusive interview, La Fabrique à Nuage looks back on its visit to SIAL Paris, a key opportunity to accelerate its development and meet the challenges of the food industry through innovation and sustainability
How did your participation in the SIAL Paris trade fair go and what opportunities did you seize during the event?
SIAL was a real springboard for our company! The visibility was such that we had a lot of feedback, made contact and signed up with several mass distribution and specialised distribution brands. We were also able to leave with financial contacts for an upcoming fundraiser.
As an innovative start-up in the food sector, what feedback did you receive on your products and your concept at the show?
The aim of SIAL was for us to present NUAGE to the agri-food world. The first sugar-free, ready-to-eat, A-nutricore cotton candy in a bag. The reception of the product was very positive and even exceeded our expectations. We had two types of reaction: first a feeling of perplexity in view of the promise (sugar-free cotton candy) and then a feeling of astonishment! The taste, appearance and texture are very similar to the product we know. In short, a nice surprise for us!
What are the main challenges you have identified as a start-up in the food industry, and how has SIAL helped you to meet them?
One of the most important challenges in our sector and for us is an industrial challenge. SIAL has enabled us to get as close as possible to these players, the builders of the industry of tomorrow
World Startups Day highlights innovation and entrepreneurship: what message would you like to send to young companies entering the foodtech sector?
The FoodTech sector is exciting but requires time, as development cycles can be long. It is important to know how to surround yourself with the right people and to take the time to lay solid foundations while maintaining a high commercial velocity. The food industry is difficult to protect and dominated by heavyweights. You have to be agile and cautious to achieve healthy and controlled growth.
Following your presence at the SIAL trade fair, what are the next stages for La Fabrique à Nuage in terms of development?
La Fabrique à Nuage is aiming for national development for mass distribution with our first product NUAGE. The first brands delivered are recording very interesting in-store performances for a product that was still little known a year ago. Our next big step is the construction of a production line to absorb demand. Beyond the GS/GSA offer, we are being contacted by major advertisers to sell and exploit our product. We are aiming for a multiple of X10 in terms of turnover between 2024 and 2025, major work will be carried out this year to move from a small-scale to an industrial scale.
