UVESA Group returns to SIAL with new range of chicken products
The Spanish food industry leader is at SIAL Paris for the second time, showcasing its range of certified yellow chicken and chicken cured meat under the brands Alpico and Basmahal.
Once again, UVESA products are being exhibited at the pavilion of ICEX Spain Export and Investment in Hall 6 which focuses on Fresh Meat. In terms of exhibiting countries at the trade show, Spain is the third strongest with around 600 exhibitors.
UVESA exports to Europe, Asia and Africa. Currently, France is its main destination and is considered a strategic market. The company’s participation in SIAL, the leading global showcase of the food industry, allows its export department to resume direct contact with potential customers.
UVESA’s story is an interesting one from the moment it was founded in 1964. It was created by a group of veterinarians who had the opportunity to acquire a feed factory. The first in Tudela, northern Spain, was initially called PIENSOS UVE. After more than 58 years dedicated to production, processing and distribution, UVESA is now one of the largest producers of chicken in Spain. Thanks to its vertically integrated production cycle, it guarantees the traceability and quality of its products which have been competing in the export markets for retail, food service and industry since 2011.
The company recently announced it would be reviving its “Christmas with social impact” competition this year. Local businesses and suppliers in the city of Burgos will sell UVESA products that will be offered in 2,700 Christmas hampers. Approximately €100,000 will be raised for the local economy in a sector that has been hit by the pandemic and global issues.
