In this exclusive interview, Vadym Gryshyn, Head of Sales and Export at snEco, shares how their innovative cheese snacks earned the SIAL Innovation Award 2024 — a win driven by unique tech, bold flavor, and a strong focus on health and sustainability.

Can you tell us about Sneco and the dairy innovation that won SNECO the SIAL Innovation Awards 2024?
snEco is an innovative brand specializing in crunchy, 100% natural cheese snacks created using our patented low-temperature dehydration technology. This breakthrough preserves all nutrients, authentic taste, and delivers an exceptional crunchy texture without preservatives or additives. Winning the SIAL Innovation Award highlights our commitment to creating products that redefine healthy snacking by combining premium taste, nutrition, and sustainability.

What were the main stages in the development of this product?
Our development began with extensive research into advanced food dehydration technologies. The key stages involved refining the dehydration process to ensure maximum nutrient retention, experimenting with various cheese varieties to achieve the ideal texture and flavor profile, and conducting comprehensive consumer testing to validate product appeal. Continuous optimization and rigorous quality control were crucial in perfecting our final, award-winning product.

How does your innovation respond to current consumer trends, such as health, sustainability or taste pleasure?
snEco precisely addresses contemporary consumer demands: it’s rich in protein, free from gluten and artificial additives, aligning perfectly with growing health-conscious preferences. Our sustainable practices, such as solar-powered manufacturing and eco-friendly packaging, resonate deeply with environmentally conscious consumers. Additionally, the product’s outstanding taste and enjoyable crunchy texture provide unmatched sensory pleasure, catering to gourmet and everyday snackers alike.

What challenges did you face when designing this product, and how did you overcome them?
A significant challenge was ensuring nutrient preservation and ideal texture without artificial ingredients. We overcame this through persistent research, refining our patented dehydration technique, and extensive experimentation with cheese maturation and dehydration times. Another challenge was scaling up sustainably; we solved this by implementing renewable energy sources and sustainable packaging practices to maintain environmental responsibility throughout production.

What are your future plans for this award-winning product and for innovation within SNECO in general?
We aim to expand snEco’s presence into new international markets through strategic partnerships with distributors, importers, and premium retail channels. Additionally, we plan to introduce more innovative product variations and flavors, continuously aligning with evolving consumer trends. Our overarching goal remains clear: maintaining leadership in sustainable innovation within the dairy snack sector, always delivering products that delight consumers globally.

Looking ahead, the next edition of SIAL Paris will take place from 17 to 21 October 2026 — a milestone year that will mark the 30th anniversary of its flagship event, SIAL Innovation, celebrating three decades of cutting-edge food innovation from around the world.
