SIAL Paris is a must-attend event for players in the meat industry. With an international audience, a focus on innovation and a constantly evolving global market, it is an opportunity for exhibitors to develop their network, increase their visibility and stay up to speed with the key trends in this sector.

A fast-growing global market

In 2023, global meat production exceeded 360 million tonnes, up 7% from 2020. With a current estimated value of nearly 500 billion dollars (roughly 474 billion euros) and a projection of 600 billion dollars (roughly 569 billion euros) by 2028, the market is growing at a CAGR of 5.52%. By 2031, global demand is expected to increase by 17% for pork, 16% for chicken and 4% for beef. These figures confirm how important it is for companies to position themselves in a sector that is constantly expanding.

An international platform and driver for innovation

SIAL Paris attracts visitors from over 200 countries, 70% of whom are international, and 89% of whom hold decision-making or influential positions. In 2022, 35 innovations in the meat sector were highlighted at SIAL Innovation, an area visited by over 50% of journalists and 33% of visitors. Taking part in this event gives exhibitors global visibility and a chance to showcase their products at a time when innovation is a key driver of growth.

Responding to consumer trends

Meat consumption remains stable in many countries, particularly in France, where it reaches 85 kg per capita per year, including 15 chickens per person per year. While 50% of French people eat meat several times a week, expectations are changing, with increased demand for organic, halal, kosher and ready-to-eat products, the latter recording 5% growth.
