Sabarot Wassner takes the Gold Award at SIAL Paris 2024
Sabarot Wassner, a specialist in cereals and pulses for two centuries, was crowned with the SIAL Innovation Gold Award at SIAL Paris 2024. Sarah Faure, the Group’s Communications Officer, looks back on the impact of this success and the challenges of healthier, more sustainable food.
SIAL Paris 2024 marked an important milestone for Sabarot Wassner, a family business renowned for its expertise in cereals and pulses. For Sarah Faure, the show was a major commercial success: “All the chains we work with came to see us, initiating new discussions about our new products and opportunities for the coming year.”
The SIAL Innovation 2024 Gold Award boosted Sabarot’s visibility, attracting both former customers and new prospects. Although it is still difficult to quantify the impact, Sarah Faure stresses the importance of this prize in stimulating discussions and new collaborations.
This success is based on a clear vision: to meet the expectations of today’s consumers with products that are good, natural and easy to cook. “The French are eating increasingly less meat, conscious of the impact on their health and the environment. Vegetable proteins, particularly legumes and cereals, are becoming the basis of a new, more respectful and joyful gastronomy”, she explains. Sabarot is committed to making plant-based foods more widely available, a challenge that is in line with current social trends.
SIAL Paris as a whole remains a key event for the company. “It’s a unique forum for discussion, an observatory for food innovation”, concludes Sarah Faure. “It’s essential for companies like ours to be at this event. It allows us to meet our clients and suppliers, be visible for prospects, and anticipate and draw inspiration from trends.”
