A look back at SIAL INTERFOOD 2023, a record edition for Indonesia

SIAL InterFOOD, the leading food and beverage exhibition in Indonesia celebrated another great edition. The show took place in JIEXPO in Kemayoran, Jakarta from 08 – 11 November 2023, and show organisers are urging those who wish to exhibit next year to secure their spot early to avoid disappointment. Next year’s show will take place from 13 – 16 November in the same location.

Presented by SIAL Group and Krista Exhibitions, the SIAL InterFOOD is described as a collaboration between two strong powers in the food and beverage industry delivering an exciting event and platform which assists food and beverage companies to break through into the promising ASEAN market.

The 2023 edition of the show welcomed a record number of exhibitors with 895 from 20 different countries including :

  • Bulgaria, 
  • China, 
  • Egypt, 
  • France, 
  • India, and others, as well more local exhibitors from Indonesia and Malaysia

The top five exhibiting sectors were :

Bakery & Confectionery; Food & Beverage Products; Coffee & Tea; Kitchen, Food Service Equipment & Food Technology; and Seafood & Frozen Food.

SIAL Interfood Jakarta celebrated another exceptional edition, with visitor numbers reaching 91,535.

Trade visitor idustry :

  • Food Manufacturer 

The largest proportion of visitors (23%) were

  • CEOs and business owners,
  • General managers 
  • sales and marketing staff at 14%.

Visitors came from 29 countries including the :

  • USA, 
  • UK,
  • all over Europe and the Middle East,
  • the Far East,
  • Australia and New Zealand.

The show programme included baking and cooking demo areas where top international chefs competed and performed live demonstrations, an area for chocolatiers to show off their skills, a gelato workshop, plus a cake decorator display and cake decoration demo. In addition, there was a space dedicated to everything tea and coffee-related, including a coffee roasting competition, and a coffee art battle.

Finally, the F&B Trends seminar programme and offered visitors a chance to learn about the different markets and trends in the region, while the Hosted Buyer lounge offered valuable networking opportunities.

The show is a great opportunity for every type of visitor to learn about the Indonesian F&B market, to network with colleagues, make new connections with new suppliers, and strengthen old ties, as well as selling your own products.
