Chile: An export powerhouse and strong business partner

Thanks to its unique geography, trade openness, and political stability, Chile has established itself as a top exporter for a number of food products, as well as a reliable business partner.

At the Chile pavilions here at SIAL Paris 2024, the country is presenting its export prowess in the agri-food industry with a variety of products, including fresh and dried fruits, seafood, wines, and spirits. “Our country has earned a reputation as a reliable partner for global business. We have trade agreements with 65 economies that represent 88% of the world’s GDP,” said Óscar Troncoso, Director of the French office of ProChile, the institution responsible for promoting the Chile’s exports. Aiming to connect demand with Chilean companies’ product offerings and services, ProChile fosters business relationships by organising trade missions, facilitating Chile’s presence at international events like SIAL Paris, and hosting networking opportunities.

One of the star products the nation is highlighting is Chilean Pisco, a versatile spirit that holds one of the oldest designations of origin in the Americas and is produced by hundreds of small farming enterprises in the northern regions of Atacama and Coquimbo. “We take pride in showcasing this product deeply rooted in our history and the communities of northern Chile,” Mr Troncoso asserted.
