For potential participants who would like to optimise their inclusion at SIAL Innovation, SIAL Paris is organising a dedicated webinar in French on March 12, starting 4:00p.m. and another webinar in English on the same day at 5:00p.m. Don’t miss out!

Since 1996, SIAL Innovation has been a springboard for dynamic companies and selected products, offering visibility before, during and after the show as well as numerous contact opportunities. Many CEOs or company founders might still be asking themselves questions such as “what is SIAL Innovation?”, “Why take part?” “What advice do I need to improve my chances of success?”, “How do I register?” Find all of the answers to these questions and more during the SIAL Innovation webinar!

This free competition is reserved for exhibitors (individuals or members of a group registered as an exhibitor) at SIAL Paris, who may present one or more products, each of which must meet the following criteria.

Criteria to participate in SIAL Innovation:

  • Consumer products supplied to the agri-food industry must have been designed lessthan 2 years prior and be innovative for its market.
  • All entrants must declare and warrant that they own the intellectual property rights to the product entered or have been duly authorised by the owner of the intellectual property rights to the product entered for the competition.
  • Participants must guarantee that their products comply with the legislation of the country of origin or the country in which they are located.


Here are the Awards that will be bestowed for the coming 2024 edition, recognising innovation across the different sectors that forge the food industry, as well as in the economic dynamics that accompany them:

  • Grand Awards, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
  • Sector Awards rewarding the most innovative products of the 10 exhibition sectors.
  • The Top 3 Countries Awards (New): will reward the 3 countries with the most innovative products, revealing the power of innovation in these countries?
  • Concept Award (New) : aimed at the Early Stage*, this prize rewards a company and/or an idea for the interest and potential of the process/innovation it is trying to develop.
  • The 60 Years Award (New): will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the trade show. SIAL Innovation rewards the best historical innovation along all the winners since the inception of the Awards.
  • The Africa Award (New): In line with SIAL Summits 2024’s focus on African initiatives in the food industry, SIAL Paris is launching a new “Africa” prize to reward innovation in the African market.
  • The “#Own The Change” Award rewards a product or process with the most innovative CSR initiative.
  • The Start-up Award acknowledges the most innovative product presented by one of the start-ups registered at SIAL Paris.
  • The Public Awards is awarded by votes cast by the SIAL Paris ecosystem, before and during the show, to choose the favourite product from among the 2024 winners.

A specific webinar for future SIAL Innovation

The selection stages

From February to August, the SIAL Innovation platform will be open to exhibitors wishing to enter the competition. Potential participants will be able to access the platform directly from their online customer account and register their innovative products. These products will be submitted to a panel of experts led by SIAL’s partner, ProtéinesXTC, and then to an industry Grand Jury, who will select the most innovative products in their category.

It is important for exhibitors to register as soon as they book their stand, so that the products can be selected by the jury as they go along.

Key dates for the competition

  • Registration opened: 21 February 2024
  • Closing date for entries: 30 August 2024
  • Grand Jury: 17 September 2024
  • Announcement of the winners: 20 October 2024

The Jury

Made up of experts from the global food industry:

  • It reviews the specific innovative qualities of products, even if they have not yet been finalised (test to launch phase).
  • Its priority is to assess the relevance of any new benefits that the product brings to the consumer and/or the industry (merchandising, packaging, recipes, technology, etc.).
  • It awards the top prizes to the products it considers to be the most innovative among the products selected.
  • Judges alone are authorised to select or not the products presented for the operation; their decision is final.
