SIAL’s international network offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world’s food and beverage sector, with 11 leading events.

Among them, Shenzhen will welcome for the second time one of the two events linked to SIAL China this year. Shenzhen is one of China’s most dynamic metropolises in the heart of the Greater Bay Area. It is taking center stage in the international Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry. The city’s various measures on building an international MICE city have helped create an environment conducive to hosting high-end exhibitions and fostering overseas market development.

Boasting an impressive 10.32 million m2 of exhibition space and a strategic location at the doorsteps of Hong Kong, Shenzhen has become a beacon for global events. In 2023, the city hosted a remarkable 195 exhibitions across its major venues —a staggering 237% increase from the previous year. Recognised as the second most competitive MICE city in mainland China, Shenzhen’s popularity can be attributed to its geographic advantages, robust industrial potential, and thriving market vitality.

The bustling city continues to capture attention, with the upcoming SIAL Shenzhen 2024 poised to be a new highlight on the international calendar of the agri-food sector. Deputy Director of the Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality Zhou Mingwu commented, “The successful inaugural SIAL Shenzhen 2023 is a model example for building Shenzhen into an International MICE City.”

SIAL Shenzhen 2023, an international platform fostering collaboration between domestic and foreign trade, made a significant impact on the city’s MICE landscape. Supported by the city government’s favourable policies and business-friendly environment, the event witnessed important success stories for the Chinese agri-food industry:

– Hubei Pavilion secured orders of US$1.4 million (€1.28 million) in three days.

– Jilin Pavilion signed orders for agricultural products worth US$0.84 million (€0.76 million) in three days.

– Inner Mongolia Pavilion’s meat companies inked orders for US$1 million (€0.92 million) in a single day.

– Guangdong Pavilion’s pre-made food companies sealed orders for US$ 1.5 (€1.37 million) in three days.

– Shaanxi apple companies received full pre-orders for 2024.
