“There is no doubt the demand for gift cards is growing. In fact, our latest research revealed that one in four shoppers purchased a physical or digital gift card for themselves in the last year. Carrefour and Everli extend partnership

In other news, Carrefour has announced that it is extending its commercial agreement with Europe’s leading e-grocery marketplace, Everli, to France to enrich its home delivery service.

The partnership follows similar successful partnerships in Italy and Poland, and will make Carrefour hypermarkets and supermarkets available on Everli. In addition, the collaboration deepens the relationship of the two companies in markets where Everli already operates, and it will also extend to cover future international market launches.

Carrefour, which is already operating same-day delivery via its own personal shopper service Ok Market! in Lyon and Paris, will in addition become the first national distributor to join Everli’s platform in France, which launched its service earlier in 2021, according to the company.

Everli is already active in Lyon, Nice, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Lille, Nantes, Grenoble, Strasbourg, Rennes and the suburbs of these cities, and plans on continuing its expansion next year.

Together, the retailer and delivery service will offer consumers a choice of up to 20,000 products, including from Carrefour’s fresh food counters such as bakers, butchers, cold meats, fishmongers, and cheeses. Everli has a network of highly respected shoppers who go to the store to pick and deliver products with care to the consumer, the same-day within a one-hour time slot of their choice.

Lastly the deal will also open up some of Carrefour’s insight and technology tools as future options for Everli, such as Carrefour Links, which could for example provide increased personalisation and understanding of Carrefour customers on the platform, the retailer said.

Elodie Perthuisot, executive director e-commerce, data and digital transformation of the Carrefour Group, commented: “This agreement with Everli demonstrates our agility in testing complementary and differentiating services for our customers. This new general marketplace will provide a great experience to our customers for their weekly shopping. After Italy and Poland, France, our main country, was a logical next step in offering this service to our customers.”

Everli CEO Federico Sargenti, added: “At Everli, we want to deliver our customers peace of mind by providing them access to the brands and products they care about, at prices they love, the very same day. As a favourite among French consumers, partnering with Carrefour means we can bring customers more of what they love as we expand across France, including larger baskets for families who want to do the full weekly shop.”
