Puratos Expands Presence in the USA with First-Ever Bakery Glaze Plant

Puratos, global provider of bakery, patisserie, and chocolate ingredients, has announced its plans to open the first dedicated bakery glaze plant in the United States.

Set to be operational by 2025, the new facility will be located in Pennsauken, New Jersey, at Puratos’ main US campus. This strategic move will enhance the company’s operational capabilities and serve as a regional hub to better support customers.

The investment in the dedicated bakery glaze plant underscores Puratos’ commitment to providing exceptional service and reliable supply while promoting sustainability. As the sole major bakery glaze manufacturer dedicated solely to the bakery category, Puratos aims to meet the growing demand for local, sustainable alternatives in the largest bakery market in the world.

The state-of-the-art plant will produce Puratos’ renowned product, Sunset Glaze, which is a plant-based and allergen-free egg wash alternative known for its shine, color, and ease of cleaning. The facility will incorporate sustainable features such as a 100% solar roof, LED lighting, and on-site electric vehicle charging.

Puratos’ decision to expand its glaze production in the United States reflects its strategy of being close to customers and helping them succeed in their businesses. With a newly acquired distribution center in Pennsauken and a recently announced manufacturing line and distribution facility in California, Puratos is poised for further growth in the region.
