AIR PRODUCTS HAILS ITS LATEST CRYOGENIC FOOD FREEZERS
US-based industrial gases supplier, Air Products, has introduced new freezing technology that it says will help food manufacturers improve efficiency.
The cryogenic technology is included in the company’s latest Freshline High Performance batch freezer, according to a company statement.
Efficiency savings will help food manufacturers operate more sustainably, the company said, because the amount of liquid nitrogen used as a coolant is reduced even though product throughput is increased, with capacity up 30%.
The freezer is designed for chilling batches or for ultra-fast freezing, so would be suited to companies with discontinuous production or food service sector operators.
Neil Hansford, Air Products’ Freshline Applications Product Line Manager, said in a statement that the company was “incredibly proud” of its latest freezing technology.
“The improved homogenous freeze and the improved cleanability delivered by the new batch freezer are great steps forward,” he said.
“More than ever food manufacturers need greater control over their food processes to cater to the changing needs of the market. This new technology will bolster resilience and ensure manufacturers are ready for continuing and future challenges.”
Air Products, which is headquartered in Pennsylvania, has annual sales of $8.9 billion, more than 19,000 employees and operations in 50 countries.
