SIAL Summits to look at major themes involving the agri-food industry
To mark its 60th anniversary, SIAL Paris is innovating the traditional conference experience at the show with the launch of SIAL Summits. Four themes have been selected for the coming 2024 edition.
Visitors will be able to discover the new format at SIAL Paris 2024. The Summits aim to redefine and push boundaries, explore new perspectives and catalyse innovative initiatives. SIAL Summits look at exploring the future of food by making it alive.
CSR, AI and Deeptech, Supply Chain, Africa: these are the four themes that the Summits want to explore by offering an unprecedented live content experience. SIAL Paris management believes that these themes are crucial issues and that innovative perspectives on them are shaping the agri-food industry.
From Sunday 20 to Tuesday 22 October 2024, visitors can engage in conferences developed in collaboration with SIAL Paris’ strategic partners, seasoned experts in their fields. The conferences will explore the immediate impact of these themes and develop concrete solutions for tomorrow’s challenges.
Sunday, 20 October, 2024: CSR
CSR is at the heart of SIAL Paris’s concerns, and this subject permeates every event and presentation at the show (e.g. SIAL Talks, competitions, experiences at the show, etc.) with the goal of meeting tomorrow’s environmental and food challenges with unwavering determination.
Transparency is also an important part of the SIAL Paris approach, as is the impact on the various ecosystems. SIAL Paris has established itself as the key event for catalysing the transformation of a more ethical, sustainable and socially responsible food industry by raising awareness, breaking down operational issues and, above all, setting an example.
Monday, 21 October, 2024: AI and Deeptech
SIAL Paris 2024 is at the heart of innovation and the digital transformation of the agri-food industry, highlighting advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and DeepTech in the sector.
The abundance of data and the tools for analysing it are guiding the industry’s strategic decisions. This Summit will analyse how these advances are innovating production processes, operational efficiency and product quality.
Every day, experts in AI, DeepTech, agriculture and distribution are amplifying their synergies to create innovative and sustainable solutions. In line with the #OwnTheChange movement, the aim is to contribute to more environmentally-friendly food production by minimising waste while optimising resources.
In addition, these technologies improve the consumer experience by offering healthier food products tailored to their needs, thereby improving their health. By transforming and optimising production processes, product quality and reducing waste, AI and DeepTech are enabling new trends to emerge.
Tuesday, 22 October, 2024: Food supply chain
SIAL Paris 2024 is delving into the hot topic of the food supply chain in the face of post-COVID-19 upheavals, the current economic crisis and geopolitical upheavals.
At the Food Supply Chain Summit, the issues of local sourcing to secure supply chains and contain price spikes, as well as highlighting food traceability, environmental sustainability and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to optimise logistics on a local and global scale will be addressed.
E-commerce and the issue of delivery will also feature prominently, as will the need to ensure resilience in the face of unforeseen crises. Food innovation, food safety and harnessing artificial intelligence to anticipate demand and reduce waste will also take centre stage.
Tuesday, 22 October, 2024: African Food
The African continent is challenging the global food scene. To showcase Africa’s diversity and creativity through its African food Summit, SIAL Paris is inviting visitors to explore these emerging trends in both gastronomy and product design, where innovation is taking root.
Beyond their resilience in the face of climatic challenges and geopolitical conflicts, African alternatives could represent coherent solutions for the world of tomorrow.
Surrounded by experts in these issues, SIAL will be highlighting not only the value of local products, but also the innovative solutions, processes and natural products that are redefining market standards.
